Bringing the doll out of her box – a deeper look into the Bratz® x Blackbough collection

A little peek into how the doll magic came to life.

Being in our twenties and getting assigned to relive our Bratz-obsessed childhood? Total pinch-me moment. We tracked down our favorite dolls from the early 2000s, spiraled into deep internet dives to rediscover iconic characters and storylines, and even pulled late-night marathons of Bratz movies, shows, and vintage commercials — all in the name of very important research of course.

From there, we brought Sasha, Cloe, Jade, and Yasmin to life with four signature prints inspired by their personalities and interests, plus two special Bratz-themed designs—Bratitude and Night Out—that highlight the motifs every Bratz fan knows and loves.

We reimagined the Core Four’s style through the Blackbough lens: flattering cuts, elevated details, and our most-loved silhouettes. To top it off, we introduced brand-new styles (including fresh looks for Cloe, Yasmin, Roxxi, and the rest of the Bratz universe) and experimented with standout finishes—like the chrome Angel print—to create the kind of collection our fave girls deserve.

Sketches turned into samples, fit tests into new faves, and just like that, we were packing up our dream Bratz closet and heading to the studio.

Fave team moment?

If you couldn’t tell already, this collab was a total labor of love. A few highlights that made the journey unforgettable:

• Building the Bratz mini game with our in-house web geniuses! It took four months, countless brainstorms, and more late-night debugging than we’d like to admit—but seeing it come to life instantly brought us back to the days of playing Bratz games online after school.
• Pixel-perfect details. We stayed up with our design team tweaking the tiniest elements of our 3D graphics—zooming all the way in on shoes, makeup, and swimwear—to make sure every doll moment felt authentic.
• The campaign shoot—two days of non-stop fun, with the Bratz theme song looping in our heads between takes, set the vibe perfectly.
• Reading heartwarming messages from Bratz fans was the kind of full-circle moment that reminded us why we do what we do.
